Overview
Dr. Bhavin is a Radiation Oncologist trained as a postgraduate in Radiation Oncology in Tata Memorial Hospital, India’s apex institute in terms of delivering quality treatment and research in cancer care. He is awarded European Society Of Medical Oncology Qualification.
Dr. Bhavin is graduated from Seth G.S.Medical College & K.E.M. Hospital, Mumbai. He is well experienced in modern and advanced conformal radiotherapy techniques such as 3D- CRT, IMRT, IGRT or VMAT and trained in brachytherapy such as interstitial brachytherapy for breast cancers. He has expertise in employing extreme hypofractionation such as stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) for cranial and spinal sites and stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) for various sites. He is well versed with VARIAN MEDICAL systems and have worked on LINACs such as True-Beam, Trilogy and Novalis as well as TomoTherapy and many more. He has first hand and unique experience in processes involved with commissioning of new Linear accelerator (TrueBeam) as well as brachytherapy (GammaMed Ix) system from Varian Medical Systems
He has various publications in his fields in reputed Journal. Use of tomotherapy in treatment of synchronous bilateral breast cancer: dosimetric comparison study and Reducing peripheral doses and risk of carcinogenesis in children undergoing intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT): An innovative method are among the few.
He has been invited faculty to major national conferences and presented successfully several posters and presentations. He was awarded as a best paper for his presentation on Contouring guidelines in Breast cancer – Where do we stand
He has special interest in Hypofractionated radiation , Motion managed radiation for Breast and Accelerated Partial Beast Irradiation (APBI ) techniques.
